Protect Your Pride And Joy With The Ghost Immobiliser
Ghost Immobiliser will protect your valuable item from theft. It’s discreet and doesn’t require additional key fobs in order to operate.
The device utilizes buttons on your vehicle (steering wheels doors, door panels, and the centre console) to generate a unique pin code sequence that can be altered up to 20 times. This will allow your vehicle to begin.
Simple PIN code Change Process
With the growing rate of vehicle theft, a lot of owners are looking to upgrade their security. There are many different types of security gadgets that are sold aftermarket that range from tracking systems to alarms and immobilisers. However there are a few that are equally effective in protecting your car. While a tracking system can assist in finding your vehicle in the event of theft, it can not prevent the crime from happening in the first place. Immobilisers, on the other hand does exactly what it says on the tin: it shuts down the engine of your car so that it is unable to be started. The Autowatch Ghost is one of the most sophisticated options available, making it nearly impossible for thieves to steal your vehicle.
Using the existing buttons in your car The ghost device generates an exclusive sequence that has to be entered prior to the engine starts. This can be done via the indicator stalk, window or heater buttons. There is also a mobile app that can be used as an emergency PIN override, allowing the driver to operate their car without the need to use the button sequence. This is a great solution if you want to give your car to valet parking or servicing. The immobiliser will remain active.
The Ghost is an innovative and unique device that works by using the buttons of your vehicle instead of as a standalone unit. This means that it’s not only a highly effective deterrent against vehicle theft but also a transferable device over to any future cars you may own, making it more valuable than the traditional lock on your steering wheel.
Weatherproof tiny device
The Autowatch ghost immobiliser is a sophisticated security device that protects your vehicle from key cloning, hacking and ECU swapping. It’s a weatherproof and small device that connects directly to your vehicle’s ECU over the CAN data bus to shut down the engine. It can be installed in the vehicle without any wiring and has been thoroughly tested to ensure compatibility with all vehicles. It is also immune to jamming devices that are a popular technique used by thieves to circumvent immobilisers.
The advantage of CAN data over conventional systems is that they operate silently. It isn’t detected by sophisticated RF scanning and code-grabbing techniques as well as identified by conventional diagnostic tools. The Autowatch ghost does not produce LEDs, but instead utilizes the buttons in your vehicle, such as the steering wheel or centre console panels to create a unique, customizable disarm sequence. The sequence can be extended by 20 presses for additional security. The iPhone app allows only one, authenticated connection with the pairing code unique to the Ghost and communication between the two is secured.
The Ghost will stop car thieves from putting in an ignition key that is not in use or replacing the ECU to bypass the immobiliser. It will only allow the engine to run only if the correct pin code is entered. It can be temporarily operated in the Valet/Service mode (with the appropriate parameters, like a 30mph speed limit), so you can give your car to a valet or service without having to enter an entry code.
Tested for each vehicle
The Autowatch Ghost is a world-first aftermarket immobiliser for CANbus. It can be connected to the vehicle’s wiring and to the engine control unit (ECU). The device detects electronic signals to block your car’s system from running its normal initialization process until you enter a custom passcode. The system can be turned on and off by using your smartphone’s app without the need for wires.
The standard factory immobilisers work with a transponder which is embedded in the key. It transmits a message to the ECU. If the correct code is transmitted the car will start however, if the transponder is replaced with one from a different vehicle, the immobiliser won’t recognize it. This enables the vehicle to be started and stolen. The Ghost immobiliser was created by a South African company at the top of security systems for vehicles technology. It shields your car from key cloning, hacking and even key theft. The only way a thief could take your car is physically towing it away and even then, they would not be able to drive it.
Ghost makes use of buttons in your vehicle, including the indicator stalk, steering wheel, as well as the doors, to generate an individual PIN code that needs to be entered in order to use your car. This is done without the need for extra hardware such as keys-fobs, and can last up to 20 presses long. It is also inaccessible to devices for diagnosis and transmits radio frequency signals, so thieves cannot make use of sophisticated RF scanners or code-grabbing technologies to identify that a system has been installed.
Contrary to physical anti-theft devices such as clamps or wheel locks, Ghost is covertly integrated into the vehicle, so it cannot be disabled or removed by thieves and is even more difficult to get rid of from a car alarm which requires disarming with an action sequence. This makes it an excellent supplement to a GPS tracker, which can help locate your car after it’s been stolen.
Emergency PIN code override
You don’t have to look very long on social media sites to find stories or videos about cars that were stolen using the most advanced technology tools. This includes key-cloning devices as well as hacking tools that allow thieves to start the vehicle without your original keys.
Our Ghost immobiliser fights this and gives you an additional layer of security to stop your vehicle from being stolen when it is targeted by thieves. It is created by creating an unique pin code push sequence from the buttons you have on the steering wheel, door panel, and the centre console. The unique pin code must be entered in conjunction with your original key fob to stop the vehicle from beginning. The unique override PIN can be found on the black card that you will receive following installation. It’s easy to remember as there are no LED indications.
The device is hidden within the vehicle’s wiring and does not emit radio signals. This means it can’t be detected by diagnostic software that can tell the security system you have installed. This makes it a great alternative to an electronic device for tracking.
Unlike most other security systems, which have an engine relay bay these CANBUS Immobilisers communicate with the car’s ECU and BCM via the CAN data bus (brand dependent). This enables them to shut down the vehicle completely by sending a digital block of commands to both the ECU and the engine.
These systems can also be connected to an analog alarm immobiliser, tracker or alarm. This must be specified prior to the installation. They are also fully service/valet mode-compatible and a good alternative to a tracker you are taking your car in for repairs to an electrical issue at the dealership.
Service/Valet Mode
In recent times, there has been a rise in the number of vehicles that are stolen without owners’ keys. It is easier than ever to steal your pride and joy due to the availability of key cloning devices and door lock picks. We have created the Autowatch Ghost Immobiliser to combat this. It stops your car from being driven, even if your keys have been copied.
It connects directly to your car’s ECU (Engine Control Unit) through the CAN data loop. It’s completely silent as it doesn’t use radio frequencies or a key fob. This means it isn’t detected by diagnostics or any other car hacking devices. It also stops the user from using a new ECU or key to bypass the system because only the PIN number allows the engine to be started.
The device is hidden within your car by using buttons on the steering wheel, centre console & door panels. Before you can start your car, you must enter a unique and reversible PIN code that can be as long as 20 digits.
This is the first aftermarket CAN bus immobiliser to be developed that can prevent your car from being driven away or started without a PIN code being entered prior to. If you’re driving away with the device in motion it will display an indicator on your dashboard which will flash continuously for about 300m. Entering your PIN code will turn off the anti-hijack. Your vehicle will continue to operate just as normal. If you do not enter your PIN in this moment the indicator will continue to flash and will require a new PIN code each time you attempt to start your vehicle.
