Easy to install

The first step is to remove the previous cover from your key. The original cover needs to be removed before the new one cover can be put in place.
Once you have removed the old cover Once you have removed the old cover, use a flathead screwdriver to pull out the four main attachment clips located on the passenger side of the fob assembly. These are marked in red on the image below. Take note of the yellow tabs, which must be disengaged.
Replace the old battery with a CR2032 coin cell battery. Make sure that the “+” positive side of the battery is aligned to the opening in the fob, and that the -” negative side is facing towards the buttons made of rubber.
Replace the cover of the passenger’s side mirror by aligning locating tabs. Once you’ve completed this, put the driver side fob back in your car and test it by pressing the button on the front of the car key. If everything is functioning properly your car will turn on the parking lights and the doors will lock automatically.

This is used to remind you of the “key-inignition”. The BCM will then be able to read the transponder inside the key fob and verify that it’s genuine.
