It’s less acidic than regular coffee
Decaf has many of same benefits as regular coffee. However, caffeine-free is especially beneficial for those who have acidity issues and problems with excess acid production. Heartburn, silent reflux, Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Barrett’s Esophagus can all be caused by too much acid being present in our bodies, leading to painful conditions like GERD, Silent Reflux Syndrome, Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Barrett’s Esophagus which could possibly lead to serious complications like stricture or cancer of the Esophagus itself if left untreated.
Decaf coffee is generally less acidic than regular coffee due to its processing methods. Many decaf coffee brands use a chemical process that uses methylene chloride and ethyl alcohol to dissolve caffeine while leaving the flavor and aromas in tact. After roasting it and mixing it with a little water to clean off any chemical residues or restore the flavor, decaf is no longer as acidic. It still tastes great! This produces cups that are similar to regular coffee but with lower acidity levels.
